About Me.
I’m Brandon Way, an IT Specialist and aspiring Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong focus on security operations, compliance, and custom-built defense tools. Over the past several years, I’ve managed enterprise infrastructure—Windows servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and network systems—while also creating security projects that bridge the gap between Red Team offense and Blue Team defense.

Through projects like my lightweight SIEM (SIEM Lite) for Windows log monitoring, a Threat Intelligence Watcher that alerts on malicious network activity, and a phishing simulation platform built with Flask and Office 365 SMTP, I’ve learned how to turn raw code into practical tools that improve awareness and defense. My CMMC Risk Register dashboard further demonstrates how vulnerability data can be transformed into compliance-aligned insights for executives and IT teams.

What drives me is the balance of sword and shield: using offensive testing to reveal weaknesses while strengthening defenses to mitigate threats. My goal is to keep building projects that not only solve technical problems but also help organizations meet strict standards like CMMC Level 2 and NIST 800-171.
Education
Graduation 03/2026
University of Pheonix
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
During my degree program, I’ve focused on cybersecurity, network administration, and compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC. My capstone project (Spring 2026) centers on developing practical security applications, building on projects like a phishing simulation tool, risk register dashboard, and SIEM Lite for log monitoring.
